]]>Australian cricket player who turned into a commentator died in a Mumbai hotel on 24th September, of a massive heart attack. He was in India as a part of IPL’s commentating team.
According to sources, Dean collapsed in the hotel lobby while he was entering with former fast bowler, Brett Lee. Brett tried his best to give him CRP but was not successful. On an early morning, the late cricket, along with Lee and another commentator Nikhil Chopra had breakfast,
Star India, who hosts the broadcast of IPL via Star Sports, released a statement writing:
It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing away of Mr. Dean Mervyn Jones AM. He died of a sudden cardiac arrest.
The statement continued:
He was a champion commentator whose presence and presentation of the game always brought joy to millions of fans. He will be sorely missed by everyone at Star and his millions of fans across the globe.”
Overall, Dean played 52 tests for Australia and is widely known for his double-century against India in the tied Test of 1986. He scored 3631 runs at an average of 46.55 with eleven centuries.
