‘The Tinder Swindler,’ directed by Felicity Morris, tackles the truly disturbing story of Shimon Hayut, also known as Simon Leviev, who can only be defined as a scammer who nearly ruined several lives. After all, the Israeli conman allegedly used the dating app as his personal playground to select women to manipulate and cheat out of thousands of dollars for his own selfish purposes. Amongst his victims was Pernilla Sjoholm<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n

How Simon Leviev Defrauded Pernilla Sjoholm?<\/h2>\n

Pernilla Sj\u00f6holm initially met Simon Leviev on Tinder in March 2018, and she was immediately drawn to the fact that he was a hard worker and an avid traveller just like her. She had recently broken up with her fianc\u00e9 of nearly eight years, but she was eager to re-enter the dating scene because she desired a mate who could complement her independence.<\/p>\n

That’s what Simon appeared to promise in his profile, and it’s why she consented to go to Amsterdam, Netherlands, for their first date, only for them to decide they’d be better off as friends.<\/p>\n

Pernilla Sjoholm and the “billionaire” actually stayed in touch throughout the months, frequently meeting up at her base in Stockholm and vacationing in Mykonos and Rome.<\/p>\n

The fact that he had come to her city for a cup of coffee after she had had a rough day, as well as his generosity during the holidays, helped Sjoholm appreciate who he was as a person, even more, bringing their friendship closer than ever.<\/p>\n

As a result, when Leviev began seeking money in November, citing security worries about his “enemies” trying to track him down, Sjoholm agreed to help.<\/p>\n

Pernilla Sjoholm had planned to use her funds from her property business to acquire herself an apartment, but since Leviev’s well-being was more essential, she transferred $30,000 to him. Then she paid for multiple trips for him and his crew so they could go about their business as usual, but every time she requested her money back, he made excuse after excuse.<\/p>\n

That’s when Sjoholm learned the truth about her “buddy” from a Verdens Gang journalist, whom Cecilie Fjellhoy<\/a> had called first, prompting Sjoholm to go undercover with them before confronting Simon Leviev on the phone.<\/p>\n

Where is Pernilla Sjoholm Now?<\/h2>\n

After everything was said and done, Pernilla Sj\u00f6holm realized that, while she has never hated someone, she despises Simon Leviev because of his vileness and disrespectful actions.<\/p>\n

Despite this, Sjoholm has not allowed Leviev limit her life experiences and continues to travel as often as she can while remaining a resident of Stockholm, Sweden.<\/p>\n

Back in 2020, after Simon Leviev’s early release from prison in Israel, Sjoholm said:<\/p>\n

\u201cI was in shock from the decision to release him. I\u2019m really disappointed by [their] justice system which gives a man like that a reduced sentence. He deceived people and left prison after five months?\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Sjoholm, who is the independent owner of Pernilla Elisabeth AB, added:<\/p>\n

\u201cHow can you give trust to a man like that, who escaped from Israel twice? A man that deceived and swindled women in Europe for hundreds of thousands of euros. Where is the justice?\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Pernilla Sjoholm, whose birth name is Pernilla Ann-Marie Elisabeth Sj\u00f6holm<\/strong>, is reportedly 35 years old. According to some online tabloids, she was born on January 7, 1987, in Stockholm, Sweden. She is Swedish by nationality. Her zodiac sign is Capricorn.<\/p>\n
