33, Darius Boyd wishes to add more numbers in the scoreboard for the Broncos before retirement. Even, the Broncos legend and board member Darren Lockyer agreed that Boyd must have a handful of records from this season.
“I just hope they do win some [games] so that when [Boyd] does finish his career, he’s got something to hold onto, not a season from hell,”
Hence, Boyd is in the fullback position again and the shift might bring fortune for the remainder of the season. Lockyer believes that Boyd has resumed his fierce energy to make some difference, preparatory to retirement.
“You can see the last couple of weeks going back to fullback it have reinvigorated his energy and he wants to make a difference,”
“Winning is what brings back the fun to footy. So he’s trying really hard to get the team where they need to be to win footy games.”
Most of all, he is a decade-long marquee player who has secured millions of fortunes from lucrative contracts. He’ll go to any extent to prove his worth at the end of the season.
Is Boyd’s Contract Worth $800,000 Per Year?
Before setting his foot in the NRL, Broncos offered him a $20,000 contract in 2006. A pretty shy teen, Boyd moved into Broncos house and quietly proved to be an amazeballs as well. After an unforgettable journey in St. George Illawarra and Newcastle Knight, he returned to Broncos on a three-year contract in 2014. Three years later, he extended his contract (worth $800,000 per year) with Brisbane Broncos.

Last year, Darius and Kayla were in all smiles after welcoming their healthy second child, earlier at her 36 weeks and 6 days in September. Kayla uploaded a part of her labor on Instagram, saying her followers that she was excited to bear second parenthood responsibilities. Also, she shared a picture of her husband, Darius, and daughter, Willow waiting anxiously but blissfully outside to her hospital bed.
Initially, the couple went ahead for IVF but its continuous failure bounded them to conceive naturally. After 18 months, they happily announced her second pregnancy in April 2019.

Though their second little daughter came a bit early in 36 weeks and 6 days, she resided comfortably in a hospital bassinet. And the mama, Kayla Boyd didn’t resist writing:
‘She’s here! This little lady decided she was ready to come earth-side early, gracing us with her presence yesterday.’
So today, as I embark on my journey as a mama of two, turning 32, I’ve been blessed with the greatest birthday gift of all. I’ve been soaking up every moment of this newborn goodness in hospital, 32 couldn’t get any better!‘
