During his freshman, Najee played in all 14 games with limited carries. He finished the season with 370 yards on 61 carries, averaging 6.1 years per carry, and three rushing touchdowns. For his sophomore career, Najee played 15 games and held a record of 783 yards on 117 carries, and scored four rushing touchdowns. His best game was against Arkansas State, where he carried the ball 13 times and gained a career-high 135 yards.
During his junior season, Najee became the running back for Alabama Crimson Tide, and during the season, he had 1,224 yards and 13 touchdowns while catching 27 passes for 304 yards and 7 touchdowns. In 2020, he had 17 attempts for 98 yards and 3 touchdowns against Missouri. Likewise, he displayed an impressive play against Florida in the SEC championship game in Atlanta. He held a record of five touchdowns and finished the night with 248 total yards.
