From a Post Boy to an Author and TV Presenter
After taking a series of jobs, Simon started working as a postboy at the British newspaper, The Sunday Times. After the September 11 attack, he began making travel documentaries for BBC. He has since documented shows like House of Saud, Places That Don’t Exist, Equator, Tropic of Capricorn, Explore, Tropic of Cancer, Indian Ocean, and many others.
Simon has also made documentaries in places like the Caribbean, Ireland, Greece, Turkey, Colombia, Russia, Burma, the Mediterranean, North America, and others. He became an ambassador for the Malaria Awareness Campaign after catching malaria on a journey around the Equator. In addition, he is a member of the Council of Ambassadors for WWF.
Simon also appeared in a charity special of The Great British Bake Off in 2013. In 2018, he released his autobiography titled “Step by Step: The Life in My Journeys,” where he covered his humble beginnings to being a successful author and television presenter.
