The month of September is always exciting for Apple fans, and this year was no exception. After a year of speculation and rumors, Apple fans are finally greeted with the release of Apple’s famous line of products, iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro.

Apple has introduced many improvements over the last generation in both the variants of the phone, including cameras, battery life, display, and lastly the processor.

Let’s learn in detail what new changes have come to Apple’s latest offering and find out the perfect phone for you!

iPhone 13 and iPhone mini

The entry-level iPhone comes in two variants – iPhone 13 and iPhone mini – the most notable difference being the size of the screen. Starting off with the display, both the phones feature a Super Retina XDR OLED display, which delivers an incredible contrast ratio for true blacks. Moreover, Apple also claims a 28 percent increase in max outdoor brightness and higher peak brightness for HDR contents.

The other truly welcomed change is the battery life. Both the phone features the Apple’s latest chip, A15 Bionic, making the phone more efficient and faster. Thanks to bigger batteries, Apple claims that the iPhone 13 offers up to 2.5 hours more battery life than the iPhone 12, and the iPhone 13 mini offers up to 1.5 hours more battery life than the iPhone 12 mini.

Apple has also updated the camera for both variants. Firstly, Apple has refreshed the design with the new diagonal orientation of the two rear cameras. This has resulted in more space, making room for the new sensor-based stabilization, which was previously embedded only in the Pro models.

The two variants are equipped with a dual 12-megapixel main wide camera of ƒ/1.6 aperture and a better ultra-wide lens of ƒ/2.4 aperture and 120° field of view and sensor. With the help of a new sensor, both phones will be able to capture 47% more light.

Likewise, the new cinematic mode is also a great addition for people shooting videos from the iPhone 13. The mode locks the camera onto a subject and keeps them in focus despite their movements. It can also anticipate when your subject will come into the frame and pull focus from one subject to another.

Last but not the least, the new iPhone 13 and 13 mini has a slimmed-down Face ID notch, 20 % smaller. Although it’s no major design re-haul, it’s still a great upgrade. The phones are available in five colors: (Product) Red, Starlight, Midnight (black), Blue, and Pink, and three capacity variants, 128 GB, 256 GB, and 512 GB.

iPhone 13 starts from $799 and the mini start from $699.

iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max

The two variants in the Pro lineup are the iPhone 13 Pro and the iPhone 13 Pro Max. As the name suggests, the Max variant differentiates itself with a larger screen and battery.

The biggest change in this year’s iPhone is surely the display. After years of speculation and rumors, Apple fans can finally have a 120Hz display on their phone. Both the display on the pro variant can dynamically shift between 10Hz and 120 Hz based on the task.

This provides the user with a smooth experience when scrolling and transitioning between apps. The Pro variant comes with a 6.1-inch panel while the iPhone Pro Max comes with a 6.7-inch panel. Both the phones come equipped with a Super Retina XDR display with ProMotion.

Although there are no radical changes in the design of the iPhone Pro lineups, the camera system in both variants has been upgraded. Both the phone features a 12MP triple camera setup: Telephoto ƒ/2.8 aperture, Wide ƒ/1.5 aperture, and Ultra Wide ƒ/1.8 aperture and 120° field of view. With the new lens, users can take Macro photography and videos.

Moreover, Apple also claims a better low light performance with the help of a wider aperture and larger sensors. Like the iPhone 13, the Pro models also get the Cinematic mode on their cameras.

With the introduction of a faster A15 Bionic chip, Apple claims to have 50% faster graphics performance. This means one can expect the apps and games to run without any hiccups. The iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max also feature a larger battery and Apple claims the Pro variant to last 1.5 hours more and the Pro Max variant to last 2.5 hours more.

The iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max come in four different colors: Graphite, Gold, Silver, and Sierra Blue, the newest addition. Likewise, the price starts from $999 for the Pro variant and $1099 for the Pro Max variant. This year Apple has also introduced the 1TB storage option but you will need to cash out a huge chunk as it costs $500 more than the base storage of 128GB.
