Meet Yerin Ha, The Australian Newcomer Starring In Upcoming Series Halo

1. She Was Born To Be An Actor

Yerin Ha was born to be an actor. Her grandmother was an actor, and her parents met each other in acting school.

As she grew up with the knowledge of what theatre and screen are, she developed an interest in acting. Now, she has set out to conquer both the stage and the screen.

2. She Is An Australian-born Korean Actress

Yerin was born and raised in Sydney, Australia, to South Korean parents. At the age of 15, she got accepted into the Kaywon Performing Arts High School in Seoul, South Korea, where she completed three years of intense training and learned what it means to be an Asian actress.

3. She Majored In Musical Theatre At NIDA

Upon a return to Australia, Yerin got accepted to Sydney’s National Institute of Dramatic Arts (NIDA), where she studied Bachelor of Fine Arts and majored in Musical Theatre. After graduating in 2018, she said of her time at NIDA:

“[The 2018 graduate class] was the first year that really [reflected] representation of society. We had someone who has cerebral palsy, a non-binary transgender person, an Aboriginal person – real people we see in society today.”

Such diversity allowed Yerin to determine her ambitions as she aims to collaborate with multicultural creative teams and give a face to stories or characters, audiences may not be so familiar with.

4. Her First Major Screen Role Is In ‘Halo’

Four months after graduating from NIDA, Yerin Ha landed her first major screen role in the Steven Spielberg-produced television series Halo, where she’ll play the recurring role of Kwan Ah. The first episode of Halo, based on the video game franchise of the same name, will premiere on March 24, 2022, on Paramount+.

The Korean-Australian actress made her screen debut with a guest role in Reef Break in 2019. She also starred in the eight-part Australian drama series Troppo, which premiered on ABC TV on February 27, 2022.

Furthermore, she has performed in theatre productions Lord of the Flies, I Walk in Your Words, Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown, Colby Sisters, and The Caucasian Chalk Circle. 

5. She Is Also A Talented Dancer

Apart from acting, Yerin Ha knows how to dance as well. In fact, she has a deep passion for dance with more than 10 years of experience in various styles, ranging from contemporary and jazz all the way to tap.
