Over a decade ago, Nine Network’s Today host Allison Langdon walked down the aisle with her now-husband, Mike Willesee Jnr, and said, “I do.”

The 41-year-old Australian reporter got married when she was 29, a year before she was appointed to 60 Minutes. Now, she is a doting parent to two children whom she shares with her journalist husband.

After a decade in, Langdon’s marriage to Willesee, a long-time Sky News anchor who later turned to politics, shows no signs of slowing down or divorce. Recalling her decision to marrying another journalist, she says:

“I always said that I would never date or marry another journo. Anyway, I did. I did. But it’s great; I love that there’s something we’ve got in common and that we can talk about.”

The former60 Minutes host and her husband experienced love at first sight after they met at a bar in 2006. After two years of dating, Allison and Mike tied the knot in Noosa.

The reporter, who’s a daddy’s girl, walked down the aisle with her father, David, which was an amazing experience for her.

While covering the 2018 Royal Wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, Langdon revealed her favorite moment from her Noosa nuptials was when she saw her husband’s face at the ceremony. She said:

“It [Her favorite moment] was seeing my husband’s face when I arrived at the ceremony”.

She added:

‘I just remember getting out of the car, on dad’s arm, and just looking down and locking eyes with Mike.’

Langdon is now a mother of two kids, a three-year-old son Mack and a year-old daughter Scout. She welcomed her first child after nine years of her marriage because her busy schedules and overseas trips while working at 60 Minutes and co-hosting Weekend Today show didn’t fit in with having a baby.

Former Weekend Today co-host gave birth to her son Mack in January 2017. She had a difficult time while parenting her son, but the motherhood experience at first hand helped her a lot after she welcomed another member of the family.

The anchor admitted she wasn’t naturally maternal when she was pregnant with her first child. She explained:

Langdon named her daughter Scout, born in March 2019, after her favorite character Scout Finch from the novel To Kill a Mockingbird. Her approach to motherhood was, however, too different the second time around. She said:

‘I’m such a different parent this time, I’m so much more relaxed – I think I’ve got it this time.’

Langdon says her husband Willesee is an amazing father and loves to see him parenting their kids. Parenthood has made their relationship more strong.

Today’s co-host says:

“I do think – and I’ve heard people say it before – that you fall in love with your partner all over again when you see them as a father.”

She gushes:

“And it is so true. He’s the best dad.”
