His Parents are Very Supportive of His Cricket Career

Though Brevis hasn’t disclosed the names of his parents, he often offers thanks to them for supporting him since he was a child. His father had built him and his brother their very own pitch for playing cricket.

His Older Brother Played a Big Role in Developing His Batting

Brevis, who roughly stands 5′ 9″ tall, used to play any ball sports since he was a little boy. He and his older brother, Reinardt, would spend numerous hours in the garden, later in their own pitch, playing cricket.

His older brother attends the University of Potchefstroom. According to Brevis, his brother is a great cricketer and played a huge role in developing his batting.

The South African youngster could be on his way to great things. He is a top-order batter who has gained a big reputation for his impressive performances. He gave a standout performance in the recent U-19 ICC World Cup.

At just the age of 14, Brevis was selected for Affies’ first team. As a U-15 player, he scored three centuries for Affies with a batting average of 196. He was named U-15 Titans player of the year.

Brevis was presented with an award as he scored 140 runs off 82 balls. When he was an Affies’ senior batsman, he was the leading run-scorer in the Pretoria league.

His Teammates Call Him ‘Baby AB’

AB de Villiers has undoubtedly served as an inspiration to many aspiring cricketers around the world. And it appears that Dewald Brevis is following in his footsteps. Brevis drew attention during the IND versus SA U19 ICC World Cup 2022 match as he displayed a similar batting technique to that of de Villiers.

After Brevis completed his half-century in the match, his teammate was seen holding a placard that read ‘Baby AB!!!’ It’s not surprising as he does hit them big like ABD!
