Australian snowboarder Scotty James has dominated the halfpipe event for over a decade. At the 2018 Winter Olympics, he was the flag bearer for Australia and won a bronze medal in halfpipe. He is aiming to compete in his fourth Olympics at the 2022 Winter Olympic Games in Beijing, China.
James is currently training in Switzerland for participation in February’s Winter Olympics. However, Switzerland turned to be his most-memorable destination as he recently asked his girlfriend for marriage in the snow in Switzerland.

A Million-Dollar Man
James has established himself as one of the biggest names and earners in snowboarding. He made his international debut at the 2010 Europa Cup in Saas Fee, Switzerland, when he was 16 years old. He proved himself as an up-and-coming halfpipe star over his first two World Cup seasons with continually improving results.

James finished 23rd in the 2009–10 FIS Snowboard World Cup in Kreischberg, Austria. At the age of 15, he secured a place in the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, becoming Australia’s youngest male Olympian in five decades.
At the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang, James won the bronze medal in the men’s halfpipe competition. The following year, he was awarded the ‘Australian Institute of Sport Male Athlete of the Year’ award. In 2020, he secured 1st place in LAAX Men’s Halfpipe.
Apart from the winning prizes, the 27-year-old athlete earns thousands of dollars from major sponsorships from Red Bull, Oakley, and Volcom. Though James has a long way to match the earnings of Olympic champion Shaun White, he’s quickly rising the ranks of Australian sport’s top earners. As of 2022, his net worth is roughly estimated at AUD $2 million.
Engaged to F1 Heiress
Love is in the air for snowboarding star Scotty James and Formula One heiress Chloe Stroll.
The lovebirds, who celebrated their two year anniversary in April, announced the news of their engagement on 29 November on their respective social media accounts. James popped the question to Stroll in the snow in Switzerland, where he is currently training in preparation for the 2022 Winter Olympics.

The 6’2″ tall James announced the happy news through an Instagram post, where he shared a photo of the moment he proposed in the snow along with a video. In the video, James screamed in delight, saying:
“Hey, we’re getting married … everyone this is my fiancée.”
James and her fiancee, Stroll, have yet to unveil their wedding plans. But the two are excited about getting married and starting a family of their own.
The Youngest in the Family
The snowboarding star, who was born on June 7, 1994, is the youngest in his family. His father, Phil James, gave him his first snowboard, a $10 display board from Vancouver. His humble personality is the quality that he received from his mother, Celia.
As a child, James always used to chase his elder brothers and sister around the mountain. According to James, his siblings are all keen winter sports people.
