Heritier Lumumba is a Brazilian-born Australian former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the Collingwood Football Club and Melbourne Football Club in the Australian Football League. He is the first Brazilian-born player who played an AFL match.

Lumumba later adopted the surname of his stepfather Ralph O’Brien, who died suddenly in 2009, at age nine. He also shortened Heritier to Harry and became known as Harry O’Brien. He met his biological father when he was 19.
According to Lumumba, it was the beating of drums that drew his biological parents together. His Congolese father, who arrived in Brazil seeking asylum from a brutal civil war in Angola, was performing a traditional Kongolese dance at an event for Brazil’s ‘black consciousness.’ His father’s performance caught the eye of the Jongo Bassan da Serrinha community, which his mother was a part of. The two eventually started dating and got married.
Lumumba has a sister named Raquel O’Brien. He also has two brothers whose names are unknown.
