Who was Jethro Cave?
Jethro Cave was an actor and model born in 1991. He died aged 31.
His father, Nick Cave, is a Bad Seeds singer who was inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame in 2007 and named an Officer of the Order of Australia in 2017. Meanwhile, his mother, Beau Lazenby, is a former model who also hails from Australia.
Nick Cave’s eldest son largely worked as a model – including for Versace and Balenciaga – while also taking on some acting roles in the 2007 film Corroboree and 2011’s My Little Princess.

What was Jethro Cave’s cause of death?
On May 9, 2022, Nick Cave confirmed the tragic news of his son’s death in a statement that read:
“With much sadness, I can confirm that my son, Jethro, has passed away. We would be grateful for family privacy at this time.”
The cause of Jethro Cave’s death hasn’t been announced yet. He had faced personal problems for some years after struggling with his mental health. His lawyer recently disclosed that he suffered from schizophrenia.
Jethro lived in Melbourne and had been released from prison just two days before he died.
Why was Jethro Cave in prison?
In April 2022, Jethro was jailed for assaulting his mother, Beau Lazenby, at her house in Melbourne.
A court heard that Jethro kneed his mother in the face during a dispute, causing bruising and bleeding.
He admitted one count of unlawful assault and breaching court orders. Other charges, including intentionally causing injury, were dropped.
Jethro also spent time in jail in 2018 for threatening to murder his then-girlfriend.
Had Jethro Cave had siblings?
Jethro was the only child born to his parents – Nick Cave and Beau Lazenby. His parents were never married and had only a short fling.
However, Jethro had three half-siblings from his father’s side. His half-brother, Luke, who was born just 10 days after Jethro’s birth, came from Nick’s marriage to his first wife, Brazilian journalist Viviane Carneiro.
Jethro, who didn’t meet his dad Nick until he was seven, also had two younger half-brothers – Arthur and Earl – who were twins. They came from his father’s second marriage to British model Susie Bick.
