This isn’t a virtuous year for Collingwood Magpies player Jordan De Goey.
He has been laid aside Collingwood’s responsibilities after charged with sexual assault. In the past few months, he was held for the matches until his COVID-19 tests imparted negative test results. Again, one of the third bad luck has struck Jordan De Goey that peeps are demanding the NRL’s “no-fault” stand down policy in AFL too.
After elevating the junior football stats, he went over Collingwood Magpies in 2015, making himself the 20th player to have a senior debut in the team. What’s under De Goey’s contract, net worth, relationships, and wiki Infos?
Is Jordan De Goey out of contract?
Last year in February, the NRL formulated a “no-fault” stand-down policy. As per the policy, the player with a criminal offence is prohibited from the game. Mainly, the protocol stated if the player holds a criminal charge, such as a prison sentence of greater than ten years, they aren’t allowed in the competition.
The authorities were in a dilemma to let Collingwood superstar Jordan De Goey play in the premiership from round seven. An Australian sports journalist, Caroline Wilson, disagreed with the terms of AFL, deciding his availability in the AFL community. She found the circumstances uncomfortable, pointing out the severity of “senior women in the AFL community senior women in the AFL community who have grave misgivings about this, and it’s a terrible look.”
Now, he has no contract with Collingwood. Similarly, he is due to appear the court in the next year as the hearing was shifted because of the COVID-19 crisis. Thus, his net worth is under review till he gets a contract renewal from the club. Back in 2014, Collingwood signed De Goey in thousand figures, hoping he can play every role- forward, back, and midfield.
Sexual assault charges on Jordan De Goey
A statement from Victoria Police revealed De Goey is one of two men prosecuted in a sexual assault that prevailed in 2015.
“The charges are in relation to an incident which is alleged to have occurred in Kew in 2015. As this matter is now before the court, police will not be making any further comment.”
One of the men from Hampton East and another from Clematis, both 24-years old, including Collingwood superstar, were charged with sexual assault in an incident that occurred in 2015. Though the football club Collingwood was aware of the event, they took no disciplinary action towards Goey after the legal investigation. Luckily, the victim didn’t press charges against the trio and wrote Victoria Police a statement of no complaint in 2018.
Spotted with girlfriend Hannah
One of the bad boys of AFL, De Goey was spotted with girlfriend Hannah while fixing up a Salvation Army inner-city cafe in exchange for his indecent behaviour towards the landlord of Melbourne suburb of Elwood.
The duo used to share their pictures on social media; however, now, his social media account doesn’t show any hint of Hannah.
His father played for Essendon
24 years old De Goey inherited his 360 degrees AFL ticks from his father, Roger De Goey who played as an under-19s player for Essendon.
Born on 15 March 1998, he was the apple of the pie for recruiters, when he turned 18. It was a proud moment for Roger. After all, Jordan is a six feet two inches tall lad, serving all of his ticks as a forward, back or midfield player.
