Nick Riewoldt is a former AFL star who played for the St Kilda Football Club in the AFL. Following his retirement at the end of the 2017 season, he became a presenter with Fox Footy. Most recently, he was crowned the winner of Celebrity MasterChef Australia 2021.

A Second Generation Footballer
Hailing from Hobart, Tasmania, Nick Riewoldt, whose full name is Nicholas Riewoldt, was born on 17 October 1982 to father Joerg and mother Fiona. His father is a former Clarence Football Club player. He grew up with two siblings – Alex and Madeleine.
When Riewoldt was nine years old, his family, his family moved to the Gold Coast, Queensland. He attended Robina State Primary School and later switched to All Saints Anglican School during his high school years.
Lost His Sister to Cancer
In February 2015, Riewoldt lost his sister, Madeleine, to aplastic anaemia, a rare bone marrow condition. He and his family then established Maddie Riewoldt’s Vision to raise funds for research into new treatments for blood cancers.

The AFL Star Turned Presenter upon Retirement
The 39-year-old Riewoldt transformed his enthusiasm for the sport into a media profession as a presenter with Fox Footy after retiring from a 17-year career with the St Kilda Football Club, where he played 336 games and kicked 718 goals.
He is a regular contributor to On the Couch and delivers expert commentary and analysis on AFL matches.
Winner of Celebrity MasterChef Australia 2021
Swapping a footy for a fryer, Riewoldt tackled his greatest challenge ever on Network 10’s cooking show Celebrity MasterChef Australia 2021 that premiered on 10 October.
After brutal cooking battles with nine other participants, Riewoldt became the winner of the show. In the finale, he plated up a near-perfect replica of a Martin Benn-created Metropolis dessert, which earned him a final score of 38 out of 40 points and the title of Celebrity MasterChef 2021.
He takes out $100,000, the winning prize, for Maddie Riewoldt’s Vision, a charity named after his late sister.

The former captain of the St Kilda Football Club has accumulated a seven-figure fortune, thanks to his football career that spanned 17 years. Riewoldt didn’t receive a seven-figure salary like Lance Franklin and Tom Boyd, but his salary was reportedly $800,000+ in 2016.
Though the specific digits of Riewoldt’s net worth is unknown at the moment, he is worth over $5 million.
Happy Marriage and a Tight-Knit Family
After retiring from football in 2017, Riewoldt has been able to spend more time with his family. And it’s his family who keeps him motivated in every phase of his life.
The 6′ 4″ tall Riewoldt is happily married to his wife, Catherine Heard. While the couple prefers to keep their relationship private (they haven’t revealed how they met), the Hobart native married his Texan bride in a pecan grove in Waco, Texas in front of 250 people.
The couple has three sons – James, William, and Edward – under the age of 10, all of whom bear their father’s signature white-blonde hair.
