Richard Browning is the founder of the now multi-million-dollar organization, Gravity Industries, which designs, builds, and flies Jet Suits, pioneering a new era of human flight. He was a Royal Marines reservist for six years and a BP Oil Trader for 16 years before starting Gravity.
Richard established the company in a number of nations, including Azerbaijan, Mozambique, and Russia, as well as maintaining trading links with a number of others. Here is everything you need to know about him.
His father was an Aeronautical Engineer
Richard’s father, Michael, was an aeronautical engineer. He and his father used to build massive fireworks from several smaller ones.
His father wanted to develop a new type of bicycle he’d invented and was always trying to raise funding for his business dreams. But Michael couldn’t do so and his dreams came to an end after the money ran out. He later took his own life after sinking into despair. At the time, Richard was 15.
An Alumnus of Cardiff University
Richard attended a boarding and day independent school for boys, Queen’s College in the country town of Taunton in Somerset. He then enrolled at Cardiff University, where he studied Engineering for a semester and then switched to Exploration Geology.

Richard Browning is the founder of Gravity Industries Ltd, a human propulsion technology start-up. He officially established the company in March 2017 after inventing, manufacturing, and patenting the Daedalus flight suit, an ‘Iron Man-like’ flight system.

TV and media work, brand collaborations, STEM initiatives, commercial events and displays, and public flight training and flight experiences in the UK and US are all part of the company’s business model.
Gravity also has a number of collaborations with the British, American, and European militaries, as well as a number of search and rescue groups.
As a director of Gravity Industries, which is now worth millions of dollars, Richard makes hundreds of thousands of dollars every month. Though the specific digit of his net worth is unknown, he is worth over millions.
Richard is happily married to his wife, Deborah Louise Browning. His wife, a year younger than him, is also one of the directors of Gravity Industries.
Richard first met his wife at Cardiff University. The two instantly hit it off, and his now-wife was the reason why he chose to pursue a commercial career by leaving the army. He shares two sons with his wife.
